Gala received a Bachelor of Applied Arts in Therapeutic Recreation in 1996 and a Master of Science in Physical Therapy in 1999, both from Central Michigan University. She has worked in multiple settings over her career including home health, acute care, skilled nursing facilities, inpatient rehabilitation with a focus on spinal cord injury, and in various outpatient clinics. She has had advanced training in balance and falls, osteoporosis and postural change, spinal cord injury, kinesiotaping, and geriatric physical therapy. Gala has lived in Marquette with her husband and 3 children since 2001. She enjoys running, nordic skiing, hiking, backpacking, gardening, writing, and time with her family.
