Falls are one of the leading causes of injury and hospitalization in older adults. At Active Physical Therapy, we prioritize balance training as a way to reduce and prevent falls. Our clinicians have expertise in training the balance system utilizing a variety of tools and exercises. A person’s balance is comprised of input from three different bodily systems:

  • Vision
  • The inner ear (vestibular system)
  • Somatosensory feedback (input that includes sensation and proprioception from different body parts, especially the legs and feet)
